BIOGRAPHY
Ashlei D. Gradney is the owner of GRADNEY, PC, a boutique law firm principally located in Dallas, Texas. Ashlei practices civil law, primarily focusing on Probate and Estate Administration and various civil matters surrounding business and torts, and is a mediator/arbitrator. She graduated from Southern University Law Center and became a member of the Texas Bar in 2013. Before law, Ashlei earned a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Business Administration for Marketing from Lamar University.
During her career, Ashlei has litigated in both federal and state courts in myriad matters. Her clientele includes people and businesses from all walks of life, including celebrities and athletes in various legal and business proceedings. Ashlei was on the trial teams of well-known comedian Steve Harvey, author Michael Baisden, and the high-profile Atatiana Jefferson case in Probate Court. Ashlei equips herself to handle complex issues of law through consistent research and continuing legal education.
Ashlei's commitment to her legal education and growth is evident through her continuous membership with the Texas Bar College beginning in 2015, which requires members to accrue a minimum of 45 continuing legal education hours each calendar year, or 80 continuing legal education hours over three years. Through continuing education classes and self-study, Ashlei combines her litigation and business skills to problem-solve complex matters.
Considered by many to be a natural leader, Ashlei was nominated for and graduated from the Dallas Bar Association's DBA WE LEAD: Women Empowered to Lead in the Legal Profession in 2021. She has served as President (2022, 2018) and Corresponding Secretary (2015-2016) of the J.L. Turner Legal Association, a board member of the J.L. Turner Legal Association Foundation, Secretary-Treasurer (2019) of the Dallas Bar Association, and was an associate in the Higginbotham American Inn of Court (2019). Ashlei was awarded the prestigious "40 Under 40 Nation's Best Advocates" Award by the National Bar Association in 2017. She actively maintains her membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., National Bar Association, Dallas Bar Association, J.L. Turner Legal Association, Dallas Women's Lawyer Association, and the National Association of Certified Mediators. Rated by SuperLawyers, Ashlei has been named a Rising Star consecutively since 2020. In her free time, Ashlei enjoys public speaking, traveling, community outreach projects, and interior decorating.
